In short: we collect personal information only to process school admissions and to run the school. We do not sell your data, and we do not use a child's personal information for advertising or profiling.

1. Who we are

This website, dpsspr.school, is operated by New Era Educational Society ("DPS SPR", "the School", "we", "us"), located at Southern Peripheral Road, Sector 70-A, Gurugram, Haryana 122101, India.

For the purposes of applicable Indian data-protection law — including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules — the school acts as the Data Fiduciary that decides how and why your personal data is processed. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need. This falls into three groups.

a. Information you give us.

When you submit an admissions enquiry, a careers application, or a newsletter sign-up, we collect:

  • Parent / guardian name — from the admissions enquiry form
  • Child's name — from the admissions enquiry form
  • Email address — from the enquiry, careers, or newsletter form
  • Phone number — from the admissions enquiry form
  • Grade applied for — from the admissions enquiry form
  • Message / any details you choose to add — from the enquiry or careers form
b. Information collected automatically.

Like most websites, when you visit we automatically receive limited technical information — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the referring page — through cookies and similar technologies. See section 6 and our Cookie Policy.

c. Information from advertising platforms.

If you reach us through a Google or Meta (Facebook / Instagram) advertisement, those platforms may share aggregated, non-identifying information about how the ad performed. We do not receive your social-media login or password.

We do not collect: financial account numbers, government ID numbers, health records, religion, caste, or any other sensitive category through this website. Please do not include such details in free-text fields.

3. How we use your information — admissions & school purposes only

We use the personal information collected through this website solely for admissions and legitimate school purposes. Specifically, to:

  • respond to your admissions enquiry and guide you through the admission process;
  • contact you about your child's application, eligibility, and available grades;
  • schedule visits, interactions, or a virtual tour;
  • process careers applications where you apply to join our team;
  • send school updates, events, and admissions information you have asked to receive;
  • maintain accurate records and meet our legal, regulatory, and safeguarding obligations;
  • improve this website and understand which information families find useful.

Our commitment: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use it for any purpose unrelated to admissions or the running of the school, and we will not use it for a new, unrelated purpose without asking you first.

4. Children's information

A child's name and grade are provided by the parent or guardian as part of an admissions enquiry. By submitting the form, you confirm you are the parent or lawful guardian and that you consent to the School processing this information for admissions.

In line with the DPDP Act's protections for children (anyone under 18), we:

  • process a child's information only for admissions and school administration;
  • do not use a child's personal information for targeted advertising, behavioural profiling, or tracking;
  • do not knowingly permit our advertising partners to profile children; our ad measurement covers website visitors (parents and guardians), not enrolled children;
  • keep a child's information strictly limited and accessible only to authorised staff.

If you believe a child's information has reached us other than through a parent or guardian, contact us at info@dpsspr.school and we will remove it.

5. Consent & legal basis

We process your information on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form, and, where relevant, for legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act such as responding to a request you have made. For a child, we rely on verifiable parental consent.

Providing your information is voluntary, but some of it is necessary to process an admissions enquiry — without it we may be unable to respond. You may withdraw consent at any time (see section 10); withdrawing does not affect processing already carried out.

6. Cookies, analytics & advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site, understand how it is used, and measure our advertising. These may include:

  • Essential cookies — needed for the site to function.
  • Analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) — to see which pages are visited so we can improve them.
  • Advertising / measurement (e.g. Google Ads and the Meta Pixel) — to measure whether our admissions campaigns reach interested families and to avoid showing the same ad repeatedly.

These partners act as independent controllers of the data they collect through their tools and process it under their own policies: the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and the Meta Privacy Policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy). Note on children: Advertising and measurement tools are used to reach adult decision-makers (parents and guardians). We do not use them to profile or target children.

7. When we share information

We share personal information only in these limited situations:

  • Service providers who help us operate — for example our website host, email provider, or a form/CRM tool — and only to the extent needed to provide that service, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Within the DPS framework where required for admissions administration.
  • Legal & safeguarding — where we must comply with law, a court or authority, or to protect the safety of a child or any person (including obligations under the POCSO Act).

We never sell your personal information or share it for others' independent marketing.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — typically for the duration of the admissions cycle and a reasonable period afterwards for records and legal requirements. Where a child is not enrolled, we retain enquiry data for 24 months and then delete or anonymise it, unless law requires otherwise.

9. How we protect it

We apply reasonable security safeguards — access controls, secure (HTTPS) transmission, and limiting access to authorised staff — to protect your information against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we act promptly on any issue we become aware of.

10. Your rights & choices

Under the DPDP Act, subject to its conditions, you may:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Erase your information where it is no longer needed;
  • Withdraw consent or unsubscribe from updates at any time;
  • Raise a grievance about how your data is handled.
